Our client, an elderly man with multiple medical conditions, was a resident at a residential care facility for the elderly. He was entirely dependent on facility and home health staff for all aspects of care, including mobility assistance, hygiene, and skin monitoring. Over the course of his admission, he developed multiple unreported pressure wounds—seven in total—including a Stage IV ulcer. These wounds progressed without appropriate intervention, eventually leading to sepsis and his death. This case settled confidentially for $650,000.00.
