Our client, a 30-year-old man rendered paraplegic after a traumatic injury, was admitted to a skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation and wound prevention. Despite being bedbound and at high risk for pressure injuries, the facility failed to provide basic care including regular turning, hygiene, nutrition, and wound monitoring. He developed multiple pressure ulcers that progressed to infected Stage IV wounds, along with severe dehydration and weight loss. The facility concealed his condition from his family and failed to initiate necessary medical interventions. This case settled confidentially for $1,750,000.00.
