This case involves the neglect and abuse of an elderly man living in a skilled nursing facility. Our client was non-ambulatory and recovering from surgery on his lungs, so he required specialized care from the staff of the facility. However, the facility failed to meet this standard of care. Our client was not given the right assistance in personal hygiene, medical care, or protection from malnourishment or dehydration. He developed severe bedsores and sadly passed away as a result.
