Our client, an elderly woman with end-stage Alzheimer’s disease, resided in a residential care facility for the elderly. She was entirely dependent on staff for all aspects of care, including supervision, nutrition, hygiene, and fall prevention. Over the course of her residency, she experienced multiple preventable falls—several of which resulted in serious injuries—and developed visible signs of neglect, including severe bruising, malnutrition, and dehydration. She was eventually discharged home in a significantly deteriorated state and required emergency hospitalization. This case settled confidentially for $630,000.00.
