This case involves the abuse and neglect of our client, an elderly man. Our client had been living at home with his primary care giver, but was taken to a skilled nursing facility to stay for a couple of days while she was out of the country. Because he was bound to his wheelchair, he required assistance from the facility’s staff to do daily tasks. When his primary care giver returned to pick him up, she was told he had a skin condition and would receive medication for it. She later found a severe bedsore on his rear. In the 15 days our client spent living in the facility he developed a stage IV bedsore, and sadly passed away as a result. This case settled confidentially for $340,500.00.
